Marco Porello is a third-generation winemaker dedicated to expressing the true character of Piedmont’s indigenous varieties through meticulous vineyard work and minimal intervention in the cellar. Mommiano is sourced from old-vine Barbera planted on sandy and limestone-rich soils in the Roero, where the grape develops both vibrancy and depth. Fermentation in stainless steel preserves the purity of fruit, while a brief period of ageing refines its structure without overshadowing its natural freshness. The nose is lively and inviting, with aromas of ripe red cherry, blackberry, and violet, accented by hints of liquorice and sweet spice. The palate is supple yet energetic, with juicy acidity that lifts the fruit, polished tannins that add balance, and a lingering finish that echoes with notes of dark berries and a touch of earthiness. A beautifully expressive Barbera d’Alba that combines immediate drinkability with refined elegance.
