Corte Sant'Alda is a renowned winery located in the Valpolicella region of Veneto, Italy, known for its focus on high-quality, organic, and biodynamic wines. Founded and run by Marinella Camerani, it has become a standout estate in the region for its dedication to both traditional winemaking techniques and sustainable practices. All of her wines are aged exclusively in oak – in the case of this Valpolicella it’s very large old oak so there’s no influence on the flavour. What strikes one immediately on the nose is the bright fruit flavours of red cherry, pomegranate and cranberry. This is a zesty, light-bodied red (think fab Beaujolais) that works a treat with all those hard-to-match foods like duck, goose, ham and turkey.
