La Monacesca is renowned for crafting some of the finest expressions of Verdicchio, with Mirum standing as a benchmark for the Verdicchio di Matelica DOCG. Sourced from old vines planted in the mineral-rich clay and limestone soils of Matelica’s unique inland microclimate, the grapes are harvested late to maximise ripeness and complexity. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel, followed by extended lees ageing to enhance depth and texture. This Verdicchio is rich and intensely aromatic, with notes of ripe peach, golden apple, and citrus zest, layered with hints of almond, wild herbs, and a distinct saline minerality. The palate is structured and powerful yet beautifully balanced by vibrant acidity, leading to a long, elegant finish with lingering notes of spice and flint.
