Intro
This Single Vineyard wine comes from old vineyards in the Colchagua Valley and perfectly demonstrates the ethos behind the TerraPura concept of searching out the best vineyard sites and valleys for each variety within the varied wine landscape that is Chile. With this wine we return to the less international of the varieties found in Chile – Carmenere – but at a more serious level with a step up in intensity and complexity.
Tasting Note
Definitely not lacking in colour, this wine is an intense and deep red. Vibrant aromas of red fruits, redcurrant and strawberry with a delicious combination of dark chocolate and spice (the wine has been aged in French oak for 8-10 months). This is an intense wine but perfectly crafted with silky tannins and a long finish.
Food Pairing
Perfect for clow cooking, perhaps with lamb shanks cooked in red wine and winter vegetables but also with a Sunday roast and all the trimmings.
