Intro
The Colchagua Valley is home to many of Chile’s most prestigious producers and judging from the quality of fruit that goes into this wine, it is no surprise. While some new oak – French and American – has been used in the winemaking process, for only a short period of five to six months, the real star of the wine is the pure Cabernet characteristics. It is this emphasis on fruit, regionality and sustainability that marks the TerraPura project.
Tasting Note
This Cabernet is all about red fruits: an explosion of raspberry on the nose with luscious strawberries (dipped in milk chocolate) on the palate. The wine is smooth with sweet, round tannins. Tasting this wine, you could be forgiven for thinking that it comes from a little further north, in the sunny vineyards of California, such is its ripeness and upfront appeal.
Food Pairing
This is the perfect match for mid-week soaps, pizza nights with friends or a spring BBQ. Equally at home alongside a pasta ragout as it is with some tasty grilled meats.
